  • Hard drive disconnect – now thumbnails won’t show

    Hi,

My portable hard drive that I was editing from (but not in use at the time although connected) came lose and the computer said it had disconnected. FCP which was open but not in use suddenly showed no thumbnails.

Although I have now shut FCP and reopened (with no media reconnect message) and everything works fine – it won’t show thumbails. I tried reconnecting media again, but to no avail. This is not the case with all the footage, just some clips…? As I said, I can edit and play the slips in the viewer, just can’t see the thumbnail.

Quit FCP, Delete the Thumbnail Cache, and relaunch. FCP will recreate these on the fly.

    Thanks.

How do I delete the thumbnail cache?
