  • how can I automate dropping in/replacing sync audio in a sequence?

    Hi

    We’re using FCP 7.

We need to remove all of the editors audio in the timeline and replace every clips audio with its original sync.

We currently do this by hitting F to match frame, then paste in the audio by hitting F10. This wouldn’t be too time consuming but we then hit speed adjusted clips. The tracklayer likes to have that off speed audio to use as a guide, so we then have to put ins and outs and then hit F, F10 etc

All together it adds up to a couple of hours! Is there a shortcut or a program to automate this??

    Cheers

    Tom

There are several macro apps out there, including my (ancient) VideoMacro.
Get it from my site, the free demo should work fine for this.

No idea, but you stated you could do it with keyboard shortcuts, and a macro app. just fires keys…
So if you can do it, a macro app. can reproduce / repeat it….

the problem is that there’s some stuff in the time line (quite a lot) which isn’t the same speed. So you can’t just mindlessly keyboard shortcut as you need to switch between the different sets of short cuts…
