Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy new time code

How do I put ‘new’ matching time code onto existing video footage?
I recorded a two camera shoot on cameras w/o genlock so the time code does not match. I tried to put new TC on the footage but the TC Generator numbers revert to 0 when I edit.

If I use the TC Reader, I cannot ‘change’ the numbers.

I am sure I did this before w/o a problem so I am a bit confused. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

    Thanks

Select the clip in the bowser and in the Modify menu choose Timecode…

(This is will permanently modify the timecode in your original source file, so make sure you really want to do this…)

You can also enter an arbitrary TC (once you find a sync point) into the AUX TC field into both clips, and then use multiclip to lock them together. This does not change the original TC.

Also, you could skip that all together, mark common in points to each clip, and then use multiclip to sync them up.
