feature film export final cut pro
Hey, I wanted to know what the best export setting was for a 90 minute film, shot on a 5d mark 2 from Final Cut Pro.
The settings I have for it are apple prores 422 (HQ) 1980 x 1080.
I’m having issues with the way the piece looks on the television at final output.
Aside form this, should the film be deinterlaced on output?
SHould I be using the export straight from FCP or use compressor?Thanks in Advance, and be nice 🙂

Always Export using “Current Settings”
Drop file into Compressor.
Turn on frame control and set to best.
Adjust data rate to program length.
Try and Use all the Disc space on a DVD-R.
If your program is Interlaced – keep it that way for DVD.De-interlace if making a Web Version.

Your camera does not shoot interlaced video, only progressive frames, so certainly there should be no need to deinterlace. And, I presume you meant 1920×1080, right? There is no 1980×1080 ProRes format.
So, now that we have those straightened out, what type of issues are you seeing that you don’t care for?

Yes, thanks for the reply.
I’m seeing an awful lot of smudges on the picture on export.
When I view it on FCP, the picture looks fine. When I export
it looks smudged.Don’t know if I’m just using the wrong output on this.
AppleProress 422 (HQ), 1920 x 1080
