System settings for projects
I’ve spent some time searching the forums and haven’t found an answer to my question yet. I have been using FCP for about 8 years now and this one thing still bugs me!
How do I get the system settings (scratch disk, thumbnail cache, autosave, waveform, etc.) to follow my projects? I may edit between 2-4 projects a day. It is more than tiresome to have to remember to change these settings for each project.
Yes I know I could make just one folder and dump everything in it. Don’t want to do that. I’ve got 144 TB server I’m using for projects and storage. Plus the assorted external drives and HD’s in the box. If I’m editing a small project (50 GB) it might be on one of the HD’s, but I’ve also got a LARGE project that’s using 1.6 TB of space.
Surely there has to be some way to make this happen. It seems ridiculous to have to try and remember to change the settings for every project.
