Modifying Text
I’m fairly new to FCP and I’m trying to do something that seems very simple. I’m adding a Text Generator and all I want to do is make the first line of text a bigger font and the remaining text below it as smaller fonts. Sort of like a header. In doing some research I came across something that says that FCP won’t do this, it adds the changes to all the text. How do I create a Subject line followed by smaller text below?

For starters, you should not be using the FCP text generator, it’s pretty lame. Instead use Boris Title 3D, which install with FCP.
To find it, click on the little icon under the viewer that looks like a film frame. It most certainly can handle different text parameters on different lines, you simply select the text on any line and make any changes you want.
BTW, after applying the Boris Title 3D, you double click on the clip to load it into the viewer, and when you open the “Controls Tab” at the top of the viewer you’ll see a gray box in the middle that says “Title 3D Click for Options.” Believe it or not, you click on that to open the application. Most people actually miss that the first few times they try to use it.
