  Using iMovie media in FCP (problems recapturing)

  Hi,

  We have some footage that was shot in Africa. Due to knocks the camera suffered I think the heads are slightly misaligned. Luckily the person shooting realized this and captured on the camera when they got back, problem is they captured in iMovie.

  Problem is FCP does not even seem to be able to play footage smoothly (picture jittery/freezes). We also cant get hold of the camera so recapturing is not an option.

  Any ideas?

  iMovie captures as .DV or AIC. Convert that footage to ProRes.
