  Compression Problem with Blackmagic

  Hi,

  I had a project a couple of years ago, where I had the final film rendered into the Codec Blackmagic 10-Bit.
  Now, I did some re-editing for the client and wanted to render the new version with Compressor into H.264 Movie. Unfortunately the endresult (at least all the black & white parts) gets an ugly strong green tint over the whole Canvas. Where does it come from?
  When I try to compress the same footage with e.g. MPEG Streamclip it looks clean.
  Any ideas?

  Hi Pascha,
  Probably you need the Legacy BM codecs to read those old files.
  The codecs probably comes with the card drivers, and should available on the BM web site.

  Hi Raphael,

  I do not have a Blackmagic card, I just used that Codec because I like the results – specially the Blacks.
  So, you think with downloading that Codec you mentioned from the side, will make it possible for compressor to work with it?
  Weird is that FCP right now handles those files very well, as well as MPEG Streamclip!

  Without the codec no application will be able to read them properly.
  Those codecs are your solution.
  Since the release of the “Apple 8/10b Unc” (by Fc 5.0), Blackmagic stopped using their own 8/10b Un codecs.
  I guess that they are still available in a drivers of any BM device.
  Ask any friend with a BM. I guess is legal to use them as a reader even if you have not a BM card.
  Sorry but in 12.000 miles away from my BM drivers.
