Is Blu-Ray to HDV Possible?
Posted by Chris Babbitt on March 26, 2011 at 10:33 pmI’m looking for a way to convert a Blu-Ray disc (BDMV Folder) to HDV for editing in FCP. It is not copy protected content. Does such software exist?

**Hindsight is always 1080p**

March 27, 2011 at 12:36 amExplain to the client that HDV is not s good codec to edit and long GOP structure causes difficulty editing and does a horrible job preserving quality. Recumbent to them using ProRes.

If that’s what they want, then give it to them.
Take a BluRay player and dub to and HDV deck.
I wouldn’t do it that that way. I also won’t touch HDV.

March 27, 2011 at 1:39 amI don’t have an HDV deck. I need an HDV file. It sounds like Eric has the solution. The only problem is that it’s a Windows program.
