Sound FX
Posted by Miodrag Ristic on March 25, 2011 at 9:13 amI’m producing a video for a company where I’d like to create an animated opening with mission / military style (greenish grid, typewriter text) and I need sound fx for that (typewriter, zooming sound and similar).
Where can I found those and are they maybe already included in Soundtrack Pro or Garage Band (I’d search for them, but don’t know the file names).

March 25, 2011 at 10:45 amJust by searching “typewriter” on my mac brought up a couple of loops, which are in one of the loops for Soundtrack Pro folders. They’re .caf files which will need to be rendered in FCP so it would be convenient to convert them to aiffs. Once you’ve found the folders and have a look in them, it might turn out that you have whatever you need on your mac already.

March 25, 2011 at 11:09 amIn the bottom right of STP is a pane called ‘search’
Make sure that sound effects are chosen on the drop down.
Then search for: typewriter, Whoo (which will bring up a bunch of clips named Whoosh)….
and just explore the library.
Obligatory “whoosh” clip

April 2, 2011 at 10:30 amIt says: “RRequires: After Effects 7, CS3, CS4, or CS5”
So, I cant use it directly in FCP 5 or 7?
