I just shot a music video w/ a 7D. Some footage was shot in 24/1080p and some footage was shot at 60p/720(Conformed to 24fps for slow motion)

What timeline settings would be best for working with both types of footage?

Should I work in 720p so that my 1080p is scaled down?

My Setting for my timeline are:

    1280 x 720 (HDTV 720p 16:9)
    Square
    Editing Timebase: 59.94
    Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)

Is this what my timeline settings should be? Slightly concerned about the 59.94????

Whenever I’ve used the combo of 720 and 1080 with Canon footage. I work at 1080. Once all the native footage has been transcoded to pro-res the 720p footage cross-converted to 1080 actually holds up pretty well.

So what would your timeline settings be?

Lets say I drop a 24/1080 clip in first and set my timeline to match those settings. When I do that, my 720 clips are scaled down.

Don’t you mean “scaled up” ?

Yes, drop the 1080/24 clip into new sequence, yes to those settings.
Drop the 720 slomo clips in there and don’t worry about it.

Now that that puts me in a 23.98 timeline, when I conform my 60p footage, should I conform to 23.98 instead of 24?
