    Hi

I’ve rendered an animation in C4d to animation codec at 50fps. The result at 50fps in FCP is great, however I now want to reduce to 25 fps – I’ve tried a number of settings and combo’s but generally get lots of jittering in the high movement sections. I’ve read that it’s best to render to 50 fps in C4d and then render to fields in editing. How do I do this, or solve the jittering?

Many thanks for your time – in advance

    Hi Dave

No, I’m outputting video for web. I made the 50 fps for the guys presentations, however I now need to cut the frame rate so I can create flash and mpeg4’s for social media. The output file with 25 fps is okay from an interlaced 25fps sequence but pretty jittery. I just wondered how I could render to fields like the pros do with their animations.

    all the best

The reason that it won’t help you to render to fields, is that the web has no fields! It’s all progressive.
So, rerender is the best choice. Use some motion blur (which will help give the ‘illusion’ of non-static movement.

Keep in mind that traditional animation was 24fps…and often was 12 (they often shot each frame twice).

    Best,

    Hi Guys

many thanks. Sorry, i just read about animators putting out 50 fps and rendering at 25 pal for TV. I imagined I could pull a progressive movie from that. Thanks for your time on this one.

[Dave Vickers] ” to animation codec at 50fps. “
How can you try to play “Animation” codec at 720p50 in real time?
Transcode that to Prores and will play smooth as silk.
