How to edit typrewriter title in final cut pro
Cheers, Using FCP it does not appear obvious how to animate the typewriter effect, a title generator. I wish to have some words seem to backspace and then respell something. Tried a lot of possible work arounds like cutting the type, which just shortened the length of the effect; keyframes do not seem to enable me to back up letters or reverse segments to get this effect.
Any advise most appreciated…

Piece of cake.
You need to do this in multiple edits/behaviors instead of doing it all at once.Several ways you might do this in FCP, here’s one.
Write On text 1.
KF Mask to simulate backspace.

https://www.sstdigitalmedia.comI have a system, it has stuff in it, and stuff hooked to it. I have a camera, it can record stuff. I read the manuals, and know how to use this stuff and lots of other stuff too.

If you look in the FCP effects menu you’ll notice that there’s a Typewriter filter in the FCP’s built-in Text effects. That might be useful???

I agree with Scott that it may take several clips cut together, but you should also take a look at Title 3d (Video Generators -> Boris -> Title 3D), which has a lot of animatable properties, including “Text Type On.”

I ended up making the title in Flash and exporting the QT – this was amazingly easy – I am just surprised that the typewriter effect was not designed for this kind of revision and that one has to rely on external software or complex ingenuity to get a simple animation_+* !
