I can’t seem to render footage I bought from istock in my timeline. I don’t know what the problem is since it’s an hd mov file the same as the rest of the footage I’m working on. Any insight is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    M

    Pia,

Look at the clips in the FCP browser and tell us specifically what you see in the “Compressor” column.

For the record, that column contains the information about the quicktime codec of every file in your project, and it is the most important piece of information for you in determining if indeed any particular file actually is the same as the rest of the footage you’re editing. In this case I suspect it’s not…

Not all MOV files are the same. A MOV file could be using any one of hundreds of codecs.

What is the codec of the stock footage file and what are your time line settings?
