  Mixed Res Sequence Renders

  Can anyone give me a technique on how to avoid re-rendering almost
  everything in a mixed-res sequence everytime i make a trim or move a clip. Not a very efficient use of time. Thanks to all.

  Turn on Unlimited RT

  Click the “RT” button at top left of the Timeline window and in the drop down menu that appears you can switch from Safe RT to Unlimited RT. If you don’t see those options then you are not working with a Sequence codec that supports what you are trying to do … in which case post back with more details about your source footage, sequence settings and importantly, what your delivery target is. Someone will likely be able to help point you in the right direction.

  Yes converting it first to one codec, ProRes for example.

  And working with supported codecs in general.

  Mixed formats doesn’t mean you can edit h264 with Mpeg2 in a FCP sequence.
