3D Camera – During or After?
Hi,
Just about to animate a logo that has a lot of complex animation going on and I’m getting a bit lost.
I’ve timed out certain actions to happen on particular beats of music, and this includes camera moves eg. the 3D camera is quite erratic and swings in and out as things happen to the logo.
Just wondering how others might accomplish this sort of thing. I know it’s hard to say without seeing what I’m doing but basically the logo is animating like crazy in itself: all sorts of things popping in and out of it.
I’ve been trying to animate both the logo stuff and the 3D camera together (as that’s how it will end up) but it all gets a bit confusing with so much stuff going on. I’m starting to think that I’d be better off forgetting about the 3D camera for now, animate just the logo stuff then come back and add all the 3D moves later.
Is this how the pros do it? I see a lot of these fly-through titles with all sorts of movement and 3D happening together – you know, the cool MTV-type idents that swing all around in a vast graphic universe full of weird animations – and it’s hard to conceive what bits came first.
Anyone have an effective workflow they’d like to share? In fact, I’m sure this would be a really popular tutorial if anyone out there really wants to help the newbs.
Thanks in advance,
ALEX
