    Oh sure – speculation.

I’m just going to say that with Light Peak (Thunderbolt? really?) potentially the most exciting advance for Mac hardware for pro users, and that ‘awesome’ new FCP version that Larry ‘confirmed’ it’s great to have something to look forward to this year in FCP land. I don’t even care if the new version isn’t all to my liking – what is? And I can keep using the old one until it’s safe to use. Just be nice to see a ‘new’ ‘Pro’ FCP.

Go on – tell me off for it, usual suspects. You won’t get the smile off my face today.

I agree with you. There was some kind of confusion in my mind as well because rumors were ripe that apple had abandoned fcp altogehter. Though i never believed these rumors but somewhere in my heart i was also wondering if i should switch to avid, just in case fcp becomes dead. Funny how I had started wondering how much time will it take to learn avid.

I don’t have any pressing need for a latest FCP update, but professionally it would not have made sense to continue working with a dead application.

“The creative person wants to be a know-it-all. He wants to know about all kinds of things: ancient history, nineteenth-century mathematics, current manufacturing techniques, flower arranging, and hog futures. Because he never knows when these ideas might come together to form a new idea. It may happen six minutes later or six months, or six years down the road. But he has faith that it will happen.” — Carl Ally

No, I’m with you on this one Ben. I’m gonna jump into the new FCP head first when it arrives, I’ve had enough of the naysayers and doom mongers. And to them I say; if I fall flat on my face, feel free to suck air through your teeth, tut reproachfully and say ‘Well we knew it wouldn’t work!’

Full speed ahead and damn the icebergs – for England, FCP and Saint Jobs!!
