    Hi folks,
I recently had the misfortune of inadvertently wiping a hard drive, but thankfully I had the project file saved elsewhere. I’m no in the process of going back to the original project and trying to re-capture (using batch capture) all of the old media. I’ve separated all the video files into bins according to their source tapes. I then try to do a batch capture for each tape, but the process is not running smoothly. The capture dialogue continues to kick out and claim that it cannot find the timecode. It will successfully capture about half of the clips in the bin, but the other half it will miss. Sometime, on a second pass, it will pick up clips that it missed before.
I’m guessing there is a problem with my device control presets. The original tapes were recorded in Canon’s 24F framerate on my XH-A1, and I’m using the same camera to capture now. My capture preset is set to “HDV,” and I’ve tried many different device control presents (HDV Firewire, HDV Firewire 25fps, HDV Firewire NDF), but they all have the same problem. It will successfully capture a few clips, then bog down and kick out of the capture process, claiming it can’t locate the timecode. I would sure appreciate any insight that you folks could offer. I’m at a loss here.

    Many thanks to you,
    Chris Gallaway

I’m having this same problem. Were you able to figure out what’s going on? It’s driving me nuts.
