  • FCP 7 export Apple HDV change quality in the same clip

    Hi,
I’ve been having a serious problem with the Apple HDV codec for exports from FCP 7.
I have this footage that I have made chroma with After Effects and it seems good when I play in Quicktime player. The original footage in apple hdv.
When I import it into fcp and exports the result is a clip that change quality during playback.
Besides, occurs a little size change in the image, as you can notice in the images below. Check the top lines of the background.
Anyone know why and how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

change the render codec under the sequence settings to ProRes.

    export as a ProRes file.

    should solve it.

I’ve already done that, but didn’t solve.

I think that I found the problem. The original footage has field dominance NONE and the footage that came from After Effects has field dominance UPPER. I notice that even setting field dominance to OFF in After Effects, when I import in FCP it is recognized as UPPER.

So this is the problem. When I change the sequence setting to UPPER, this footage goes fine, but the other footages of the original material(that has not passed by after effects) has the quality decreased.

Now I can solve by two ways:
1- Discover how change field dominance from NONE to UPPER in FCP without quality loss.

2- Discover how to export from After Effects with field dominance NONE.

    Anyone knows?
