    Hey all –

Working on this pro-bono piece for the last 18 months that is just about done. I
am doing a final audio mix on sources that came mostly from Flip cam files
(yeah, that much fun). Started on FCP 6.x and now on 7.03.

When I add a gain effect to a clip, I can hear it’s effect in the viewer, but
there is no effect to level at all when played on the timeline. I must have
fat-fingered something. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Only setting that I can think of is in the User Prefs… in the Render tab. Make sure the filters are turned on…

If that doesn’t fix you, trash your preferences for FCP, and relaunch it.

    Thanks Jerry. Strange on indeed.

When trashing the FCP prefs, should I do the pref file that is in the Final Cut User Data folder inside the Pref folder. If you look, there are two FCP prefs now: one is the old .plist file and another one (inside the folder) has the Final Cut icon on it called Final Cut Pro Prefs.fcset. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I’d trash all three of the red and white icon’d files in the User Data Folder. Plist would be next…

Found it. While I had the Filters turned on in the User Prefs, in that particular sequence (this is version 10) they were turned off in the Sequence Prefs. That fixed it. Thanks for your help.
