FCP 4.5 on iMac
Hi guys,
I had been running FCP 4.5 on a Mac Pro – power PC G5 1.66mhz for years and final went out and upgraded.
I’m likely going to be using Adobe Premier for most new project I put together but need FCP to run on the iMac to access older projects.
The problem is that after I installed it I get a “Configuration Error” saying:
This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing
-Power Macintosh G4/350 MHZ or faster
-AGP Graphics cardI’ve got my iMac stocked with a 3.6ghz i5 with 4gb 1333mhz ram and a ATI Radeon HD 5670 card

FCP 4.5 will not run on intel machines. 5.1 or later will.

hmmm so what would be my best bet if I wanted to ever access those projects again?

Install FCS 3, make copies of these projects and simply open them in FCP 7, and let them update.
