  dv tapes out of sync

  Hello,

  I have a problem that I can not seem to figure out.
  The tapes that I capture are partially out of sync.
  So the firts tape I have put in is good, the the second one is out of sync and the third one is sync again.

  I am using an Mac Pro with
  Mac OS 10.5.8
  2x 2.26 ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon
  6 GB 1066 MHZ DDR3

  I have 3 intern hard drives and am capturing dv tapes with an dv Pal easy setup in Final Cut Pro.
  I am capturing on the second internal hard drive.

  Normaly I capture with a tape deck but because of the sync problems I also tried capturing through a camera and it is still the same.
  I checked the audio sample rate but my project is the same as the recorded material so that is also not the problem.

  Does anyone recognize this problem and may have an solution as to what I am doing wrong?

  It’s possible that the errant tape recorded 10 bit audio instead of 12… if so set the capture preset to be 32khz, 16 bit, and it will become sync’d… This information might be displayed on the camera’s viewfinder during playback (you may have to dig down into a menu on the camera to turn this feature on), if it says 10 bit, you’ll know to change the capture preset.
