I have an AE proj that was built at 1920 x 1080 29.97, final output is quiktimes with a premult alpha, the studio has decided to use a different online facility thus the deliverable specs have changes to 1920 x 1080 59.94 16bit .sgi frame seq. the new online facility is finishing on a smoke.

that being said i am looking for the best way to give the new facility the files with the most flexibility. my thought is to use the 29.97 quicktimes to render the frames out at 1920×1080 29.97 or 30 fps 16bit .sgi files and let the smoke do any interpolation if necessary.

using the quicktimes insetad of the orig. comp will save lots of render time.

    any suggestons, thoughts or comments?

if your comps don’t use any video or prerendered footage, you should be able to change the frame rate of the comp to 59.94 and give them what they are asking for.

actually, if your comp used 29.97 interlaced footage, if the interpret footage settings are set to correctly separate fields, that footage should look pretty good at 59.94 too, so you may not have too much to worry about.
