    Hey guys,

I’m new to these parts and to AE, but I’m a quick learner…

I found a tutorial on how to take the particle system and make it rain (spray down basically)…

I was wondering if any of you guys out there knew of a way to make the rain drops affect the ground?

Basically I’m using the clip of Sam and Tino walking by the pond with their sticks and its raining… was gonna try to make drops in the pond and make the sand/dirt have water marks..

    Ideas?

    Thanks ahead of time.

The Anvel (Dean Valez) has some great (and I do mean great) free After Effects project files (aep’s) that you can load into After Effects 7.0 (will also work in CS3 at a push) that can really help you figure out how certain effects are achieved.

He has a few free aep’s on water/rain effects which you can download here:

    https://www.theanvel.com/zips/Water%20Projects.zip

I highly recommend you also check out some of his other aep’s which will show you how to create fire, clouds, particles etc etc…

It depends on what you’re doing. AE has an Effect called CC Drizzle (Effect > Simulation > CC Drizzle) which you could put on a solid layer and then make it 3D and then rotate on it’s X-Axis it so it can be composited with the ground.
