I’ve got some DVC ProHD footage that is pretty unsteady. I have applied the SmoothCam filter, rendered, and when outputting to an HD monitor get acceptable results. My problem is when exporting the sequence as a Quicktime file to send to client for review it looks extremely shaky and blurry.

My workflow…export parts of raw clips that I’m using to Quicktime, import new QT clip and drop into sequence to replace original clips, apply filter, render, export sequence as Quicktime self-contained movie.

    Any tips?

Open the Master clip in the browser window, tweek the parameters like auto scale, rotation, etc.
watch the whole clip. I just hope your clips are about 2-3 mins max.

This is sometimes create some undesirable scaling at specific point of the clip, depending on the amount of shakiness.

Smoothcam filter will create a SmoothCam Data file in the same location as the media file. Make sure to check to see if the SmoothCam file is in the same location as your original media is stored. If you move the media you need to apply again.
