Hi, I’m trying to import Hi8 tapes into Final Cut Pro 7 but for some reason once I go to the Log and Capture window and hit the Capture now button a black window pops up for a split second and then disappears. When I go to my capture scratch folder that I have set up for the project I get none other than a split second of black. Maybe there is some mistake I’m making with my Easy Setup or A/V Settings. Below are the specs. Anyone know what’s going on?

Capture Device: Digital8 Sony Handycam connected to Macbook Pro laptop computer via firewire cable.

    Project Setup:

    Easy Setup
    Rate: 29.97 fps
    Format: all formats
    Use: Custom Setup

    Audio/Video Settings
Sequence Preset: Uncompressed 8-bit NTSC 48kHz
    Capture Preset: DV50 NTSC 48kHz
    Device Control Preset: Non-Controllable Device
Video Playback: Digital Cinema Desktop Preview – Main
    Audio Playback: Built-in Output

    Log and Capture Capture Settings
    Device Control: Non-Controllable Device
    Capture/Input: DV50 NTSC 48 kHz

    Thanks.
