  • FCP Output to Compressor Audio Feedback & Noise

I have edited a 2-minute video in FCP 7.0.3. I “Send to” Compressor—-I have 4 or 5 times and get the same result every time. I’ve trashed preferences of FCP & Compressor with mo resolve.
A few seconds into the video I get the nastiest blackboard scratching feedback it would hurt a dogs ears.
It starts at the same place every time and sounds like the same melody (not melodic at all). It does not exist in the FCP pieces just after it goes through compressor.
    Any suggestions?

Have you exported it using QT compression? If so does it do the same thing in the same place? If so, I would take out that footage and try a new round. If no noise, it was the footage. If there is noise, try a different audio signal. Instead of 48 khz use 96 khz or 44 khz with 24 bit depth.

Thank you for your suggestions. A QT Compression output—then output in Mpeg-2 streaming again worked fine. However (as with all of my other Compressor Streaming output videos), there is a loss of audio range. I am wondering if your suggestion of going to a 96 kHz or other output format would maintain the original audio range better for uploading to Youtube?

    Don’t send to Compressor.

Export a a reference movie out of Fcp, then bring that export in to Compressor and transcode.
