  Working in 2K with DPX files – LUT (Digital Intermediate)

  Hi there,
  I have to make some work for a movie (add some rain, fire). Im getting the footage as a DPX sequence.. as the DPX has the color information stored at 10 bit logarithmic, when i try to watch it i can

  You really need to take a look at this document:

  As you’ll see, this became much easier and powerful in AE CS3.

  Hi, do your comps in AE in 32 bit. Use the cineon converter, not a LUT. Do all your work in linear then convert it all back to log as the final step. To get a closer visual idea of what it is going to look like once filmed out, use the color profile converter effect (I think it’s called that). I can’t remember the exact settings off hand but there are profiles for viewing film.
