    Guys and gals,

First off, sorry for my lack of participation as of late, I have been so busy learning my new system (Nitris Symphony) and the infostructure around it. I have also been busy with projects.

That said… I have been having a weird problem with Cs3….. I have 2 licences on 2 machines. I have render queues on both machines, some have 20 or so items in them, but the items in the render queue are basically the same projects, just with text changes…. the first 3 or 4 items in the queues render in 5 or 6 minutes…the next items render out in 20-30 minutes. Quitting AE and starting again brings render times back down to 5-6 mins….. this is happening on both machines. I have also tried the secret settings to purge frames…. what is going on ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this technote was posted last weekend in response to someone who noticed render slowdowns after a period of time…

https://www.adobe.com/go/kb402403 (for some reason this link takes a long time to open)

it only addresses an issue with more than 6 processors, i’m not sure if that helps you….

i don’t know how much time you want to spend troubleshooting this, but have you tried sending 4-5 to the render queue, render, then another 4-5 and see if you experience the same render slow down? if not, then there maybe an issue with cs3 and purging the ram cache between renders in the queue.

do you have multiprocessing enabled? if so, you could test with mp disabled to see if you get the same issue.

one last thing, if disk cache is enabled, try disabling it… at least that can take any potential drive issue out of the picture.

i wish i had a better answer for you.

    Thanks Kevin,

Unfortunately one machine is dual core duo, and the other is a dual quad core. Two different machines, but both displaying the same problem. (render times are faster on the dual quad box, but the longer render times are after 4 or 5 are slowing down to about the same relationship).

    Thanks
