November 19, 2010 at 8:27 pmI am guessing you are using firewire to capture. Are you capturing to an external hard drive (not the system drive). If so is it connected via USB or firewire?

Just need the really important bit now- is the drive USB, firewire 400 or 800 or something else? Drop frames can occur if there is a firewire bus conflict or with USB the drive may not be fast enough so the cause of your problem is likely to be one of these issues.

November 21, 2010 at 12:44 amthe drive is USB 2.0 & firewire 800, but i captured other dvcpro50 tapes and no problem, but these two tapes that i have seem to give me this problem.

November 21, 2010 at 8:08 pmCould be the tape. Try to capture with Capture Now, as non controllable. This way you’re ignoring the timecode but you can see if the problem is timecode or visually the footage on the tape.
