    Hi there,
For a long time i have had this issue not only on my Mac but many other Macs.
I am working on FCP 6. When i want to make a master copy of my timeline. I should be able to use Export>Export to Quicktime Movie, which should give me a uncompressed version of my timeline.
What i get is a movie that has green glitches on transitions, moving graphics, even whip pans etc.

I would love to know a way around this. It has been a problem for a long time, i have tried googling but couldn’t find any solution.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

You have a software or hardware problem. If you have a video card I would remove it, uninstall the drive and see if you are still getting corrupt frames.

If that doesn’t work I would do one of two things.

    A)
Uninstall FCP, reinstall, if still a problem, wipe HD and to a total reinstall from the ground up.

    or

    B) take the system to Apple and have them look at the graphic card.

These could be the problems but i have had this same problem on 4 different Macs. A MBP, MacPro, and 2 Imac’s (one last year model, one this year) 3 using final cut pro 6 one on final cut 7.

It almost seems like ‘Export to a quicktime movie’ renders too quickly. So it misses out key information.

Its incredibly strange. Am I doing anything wrong when i click Export to a quicktime movie. The settings should all be the same as my timeline surely?

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

    Are you using ProRes?
I know for a fact that ProRes does not work well with Apple’s Pro Products!
