Log & Capture audio input?
I am setting up to do a log and capture. I am using a Sony GVD1000 to import my footage. My good audio is on Channel 1 and my shotgun audio is on Channel 2 from the camera. I can select on the Sony which audio channel to bring into FCP however when I just select say Channel 2 both Ch1 and Ch2 meters in FCP are bouncing. Does the same if I select just Ch1 on the Sony.
The other option is to select Stereo on the Sony. Back in FCP in the Log and Capture window, under clip settings, the audio input channels (2) are greyed out and not clickable. Even if I select the box for preview, the other box remains not clickable.
The only thing I can think of is send out a Stereo signal out of the Sony (I need the audio from the shotgun for room noise but Ch1 is the main audio) and then select Mono for audio input into FCP.
I just thought that if I only wanted to send Ch1 audio out of the Sony to FCP, I should only see Ch1 bouncing in the meters but that is not the case.
