I am so freakin annoyed… I was using compressor QT H264 and stepped away to take a phone call. When I came back to the computer, it had failed. So, I started Compressor over again using the same H264 QT attempt. I let it do its thing for about 2.5 hours. All the while I was online reading blogs and crap like that and then looked over at compressor and it has failed again. What on earth am I doing wrong? I have started it over again using the Apple TV option in compressor. That has always worked for me in the past so hopefully it will work again but my professor has asked for the QT H264 option to be used? I have to work tomorrow and really didn’t want to have to deal with this, but I suppose I can take off if need be. If someone can, will you post and let me know if you have any idea what I am doing wrong… hopefully this apple TV version will work for me and then work for the premiere… sorry to bother you on something that seems so simple…
    thanks

Check out https://www.digitalrebellion.com for their Compressor repair app. If that doesn’t do the job then you may have an issue with your video file.

thanks for the link… unfortunately i am on a campus computer so i do not have the ability (username or password) to download from that link… i will certainly meet up with a professor in the morning to see if i can get that cleared and maybe that will help.
as of right now, the apple TV compression is still working… i suppose it might fail soon, but if it goes thru does that mean that my FCP files are not messed up as you had mentioned?

i used this link and just totally disregarded compressor:
    https://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,17676

quick question though… by putting “current settings” as the choice will that maintain the 1080p that it was shot in? is that what “current settings” means?
that link says to put the QT file into compressor… why would i do this? don’t i have a full HD QT file in H264 once it gets done with the FCP QT conversion? what’s the point in taking it over to compressor?

“Current Settings” refers to your sequence settings.
You edit in 1080p and then output a 1080p file.
