I’ve tried to look through many posts to answer my questions, and along the way have found many, but am still missing one, so hopefully someone out there can help.

I am shooting a project on a Panasonic DVCPRO HD P2. I am shooting at 720p24pn. When I log and transfer my footage everything works fine and I am able to begin my edit. My sequence settings all seem to be in order, except the quicktime video settings. For some reason the compressor is DVCPRO HD 720p60. Maybe I am thinking wrong but shouldn’t it be DVCPRO HD 720p24p I tried to change it but the option for a DVCPRO HD 720p24p is not available to me. Could someone fill me in on what I may be doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Adam

All deviations of 720p DVCPro HD (meaning whatever frame rate you shoot in 720p) the codec will be called 720p60 no matter what as that’s the official name of the codec. it can operate at all different kinds of frame rates.

If you had a different codec for evey frame rate, it’d be an organizational nightmare and impractical. So the codec has a title that can operate under different banners.
