Media Asset Management suggestions
Hi All,
This probably does not belong in the Final Cut Pro forum but since I am a FCP user I think the advice of FCP users will be most helpful, also I’m not sure what forum to turn to on the COW.
I am looking at a way to share photos (unsure if I’ll need to share video in the near future as I am the only editor) between my self (Mac Pro) and two other people in the media department who are currently on PC. What we want is to be able to share pictures between the three of us – either on a central server or hosted on one machine – with the ability to tag photos with relevant keywords that would then be searchable.
We are considering upgrading everybody to a Mac and using Iphoto but I’m not sure this helps that much more. My one feature request is that I could grab groups of photos and move them into my project folder without having to download each one individually from a web interface.
There was talk of using Flickr or Picasa online but I think this could be a security risk having all our company photos on a site like that.
