  3D Mirror Plane (Reflection Layer) Effect ???

  Hi,

  I am searching for a simmple and fast mirror effect for a 3D Layer (plane in 3D-space), which simple reflects other 3D-Elements above it. Also it would be nice to make the reflection more transparent dependent on distance to the mirror plane.

  Here are two examples of what I want (from Photoshop):

  Sure, it is possible to get this “by fake” instead of a real reflection (mirror). But it would be much more convenient with a mirror-plane, in particular with more than 2 objects (image or text planes) in 3D-space hiding parts of each other.

  Does anyone know a plugin for this? I am also practised in 3D-apps 3dsmax and cinema4d, but this way would be too complicated.

  So please no suggestions like “use this or that 3d-app”.

  After Effects doesn’t do raytracing, which is what you want.

  Nabscripts has a great script for just this purpose called Wet Floor. Check it out here:

  It may not be CS3 compatible… I haven’t tried it since upgrading. Good luck.
