PRE-KEY????
does anyone know how to pre-key something so you can move an object from after effects to final cut.
what im trying to do is move this spinning logo to final cut from AE but i want to keep transparancy so it will still look good. right now i just have a green background and i key it out in final cut. it looks terrible. i really need to learn how to do this fast, deadline is coming up.
an example of this is in andrew kramers action movie essentials. you can drag and drop any of the movies files and it is pre-keyed.

remove the green background in ae and export an image sequence, png or tga are what I use
when you import into fcp you may have to modify alpha, cant remember where the control for this is off the top of my head but I know I’ve done it and it works fine -
You could key it out using Keylight then export it (add to render queue) as a quicktime MOV with millions of colors+ (+ meaning alpha channel).
