    Does anyone know of a plug in for FCP that will auto detect scene changes and apply a marker at that point? I have 1.5 hour QT file that I want to add compression markers at points in it that are not encoding to MPEG2 well. If I can automate this it would be most excellent.

    What you’re asking for is done in Compressor by using VBR encoding and adjusting the keyframes. Read up on the subject in Compressor help or the manual if you have it. However, often using VBR encoding causes the issues you might be having and CBR encoding is actually the cure.

    But, both detect shots, not scenes.
    Why not do it by hand? A normal feature has not that many scenes…
