Transition bug ,lag ,freeze
Hi , i would like to know when i put some transition to some videos my video freeze for like 1-2 frames and after it’s ok and when i remove the transition it’s all good after…
Same thing for the Speed of the video , for example : i put 50% speed on a sequence and the one after is 100% , it’s buging when it’s switching to 50% from 100% , anyone can help me with that please ?Thanks alot !

Steady there Dave. I saw no mention of H264 (although you may well be more physic than the rest of us).
Max, when posting please let us know your sequence settings, codecs and frame rates and the computer you are using, plus versions of FCP etc.
Also make sure you understand the need to sometimes render clips with speed changes, transitions or filters to have real time playback without stutter or freezes or dropped frames in general. The manual gives very good instructions about render bars and real time performance and techniques to get optimal display from your particular setup. Finally, using the word bug to describe what is probably operator error will not win you friends.

How do you change to Pro Res footage when you are already working in (and have made cuts) in a timeline that is H.264? I’m using FCP 7. How do I convert the files I already have imported as .mov?

Converting the files: MPEG STREAMCLIP….or better yet, COMPRESSOR. Something that will retain their timecode. And then make sure they have the same name…Compressor likes to add the compression type to the end of the name.
So, convert all the footage, copy the H.264 off the drive, then delete it from the drive, and relink to the ProRes footage.
THEN, go into the sequence settings, and change the Compressor from H.264 to ProRes 422. If that doesn’t work, and you still have render bars….take a ProRes clip, cut it into a new sequence…click YES when FCP asks if you want the settings to match. Then COPY and PASTE the clips in the old sequence to this new one.
But, before you do all that…a quick fix to try is to go into the Sequence settings of the existing sequence, change the Compressor to ProRes 422…and then render. That might work…it’s a band aid option that doesn’t always work, but it does sometimes.
