  Sound/Audio error – .avi audio skips in After Effects

  I am working on a project in After Effects. After importing 2 .avi files (both under 2 minutes long), I noticed that the sounds skips every few seconds when I do a RAM preview. It also skips after rendering.

  I’m am confused because the .avi files both play flawlessly outside of After Effects in QuickTime. Also, other projects that use .mov files work just fine, but I don’t want to export the avi files as .mov, re-import, and re-export because of the quality loss.

  My machine and specs are as follows:
  iMac – OSX 10.4.10
  2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  3 GB DDR2 SDRAM
