  • Creating approval DVD’s

    Hi folks
I’ve read a couple of old threads refering to this… but wondered if anyone has any new ideas..?
    Currently we:

    1. Author DVD’s with multiple items and menu’s in DVD Studio Pro.
    2. Duplicate them in a stand alone unit if any are needed.
    3. Create one off DVD’s for approval on long form items like rock concerts. And although have tried playing out composite to a DVD recoder, the result is a bit semi-professional! So we favour using DVDSP for these also but using first play, no menu.
    4. Although we work in PAL, we often have to convert the media to NTSC for approvals from US – this is very time consuming!

Wondered if anyone any new improved FAST ways of getting stuff to DVD, or if anyone has stopped using DVD for approvals and are somehow streaming over the web instead?

    All thoughts and comments welcome!

I’ve not made DVD’s in a while for approval purposes. I’ve been using either Sorenson 360 or my iDisk for the job. Since there’s no physical disk to send somewhere – overall, it’s a faster process, and the client involved can see it any time, any where there’s a computer, or even a smartphone.

    Hi Jerry
Sorry – a little rude of me not to come straight back to you!
But thanks for your comments, it seems chatting around, that many are going down this route rather than hard copies on DVD.
