Compressed from .MP4 to Pro Res – Still Needs Render

Sorry if this has been asked.
I am working for a client who is using a FLIP camera. After some internet research, I’ve discerned the .mp4s need to be transcoded to some kind of .mov to work properly in FCP.
Easy enough, but it’s not working. I used Compressor, using the ProRes 422 (Proxy) setting, but when I imported the newly-made .mov into FCP, I still get the red line. I’ve looked at the sequence settings to make sure everything matches.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Update: Turns out it’s just the audio that still needs rendering. I’ve tried changing the audio settings to match the .mov to no avail.

Audio needs to be 48k 16 or 24 bit aiff.
You either nned to transcode those movies again with a correct audio setting or do a separate audio pass.

The compressor presets for QT normally change A to B but replicate everything else like size, frame rate, and audio.

You may need to use bigasoft video converter software to convert the flip video to mov, there is no need to do anything with the audio setting. Then you can import to fcp fast and easily.

Compressor works just fine for this, you just need the audio specs to match your fcp timeline. No need for
other software. I’ve converted flip video before with Compressor, no prob.
