  HDV 720p capture via Firewire using JVC deck

  I have a JVC BR-HD50 deck that records/plays DV and HDV 720p. I’m using it now just for DV capture, but I’m wondering if FCP 6 or 7 will capture HDV from the deck via the Firewire cable. Thanks.

  If you are capturing footage shot with the JVC HDV camera…yes. Sony and Canon are 1080i HDV, so those tapes won’t work in that deck. But look in your Easy Setups…you have one for 720p HDV…

  I forgot about “Easy Setup” because I never change anything. I see there’s a lot of settings in there. Thanks for the reminder.
