    Hi all,

after outputting from a pal-dv sequence in final cut, I’m getting weird lag in QuickTime playback. If I take the export into final cut, however, the video looks fine.

All footage was ripped from commercial DVD and the vobs converted via streamclip into dv-pal and is anamorphic.

I’ve exported from ‘current settings’ in final cut and the video is jumpy. If I keep replaying these laggy bits over and over, the lag is inconsistent. That said, it can’t be the system resources as it’s surely powerful enough for DV playback. I suspect final cut is not exporting movies as ‘current settings’ as this lag does not appear in final cut. Could it be a render problem? Should I delete all render files and rerender? Each piece of footage (virtually every edit) has been treated with resizing to conform all of this 4:3, 16:9 material into a 720×576 16:9 timeline. I suspect final cut is rendering on the fly which is why it looks fine within the canvas. The source DVs also play smoothly.

Am I missing something? Should I just rerender?
