  • Screwed up 7D Sequence Settings! Video Already DONE!!!

Posted by Joe Nolan on September 28, 2010 at 2:40 am

Ok, I’m editing a music video shot on a Canon 7D in 1080/24p. I converted all footage to ProRes 422 (LT).

Here is my problem: I am DONE the video, exported it and noticed how stretched out it looks. I showed it to an associate who is far more experienced and he said I shouldn’t have black bars above and below the video.

    PROBLEM:
When I dragged my video to the timeline I clicked YES when it asked me to automatically change the sequence settings (this is correct as far as I know), however, after further inspection I realized that by putting the audio file in the timeline before adding video it screwed it up when changing the sequence settings.

Is there a way for me to get the correct sequence settings on my timeline without having to completely redo the video??? My deadline is almost up!

Make a sequence with the proper settings. Copy and Paste the current sequence into that. Highlight everything, and the EDIT>REMOVE ATTRIBUTES. Choose DISTORT. Might have to choose BASIC MOTION too. If you had any resizing, or keyframed movements, those will be done away with, and you’ll have to redo them.
