FCP 7 finised edit best export format need advice
have been editing in FCP7 as Proress 422 time line the original footage was from VOB files only
question.
1 whats the best format to export to have the footage for my web site the footage will be clips and also show reels and what the best compression rates to keep the best quality???
2, whats the best export format to be able to send the show reels have made via the internet and what compression rate will keep the best quality?

H.264. There are several data rate option presets in Compressor.

You will have people hating you if you email them a large attachment at it will cause them problems with accessing any of there email.
Just post it online and send them a link.

Post on VIMEO, make it password protected. Best thing going. And good quality too. Anyting you email will look like ass.

Thats a good idea. Your client can download the original file.
I use Vimeo instead of sending things by FTP or e-mail.

Hi All and thanks for the great information and advice
as to file format whats best to keep it as a MPeg-4 or something else, when l have used FTP for work its always MPeg-4 but is there something better for Web sites and also the Web site you have all mentioned?
I have been told Flash but l have no idea about web design and programs with whats works best???
Example’ Export FCP Edit as Quicktime to Compressor and output as???? or do l have it all backwards

Keep this simple. If it’s an HD project, output unsing quick time conversion in FCP. Use the Apple TV preset. This makes a nice, lowish and quick to encode 720p file which will play nice with Youtube or Vimeo. I use Vimeo out of choice for client work. I embed these on my site, so there’s no bandwidth issues.
