FCP to Flash?
I’ve edited a video that my client needs converted to Flash so he can stream it on his website. There doesn’t appear to be an easy way to get that done in FCP. However, the client has pretty good conversion software if I can just export it to some other type of file. I’ve tried the Quicktime conversion to AVI, WMV, Mpeg 4, none of those conversions are acceptable (they look lousy). I’ve also tried converting the files to those formats using Compressor with no success. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Steve. Forgive my ignorance, but can you give me more direction? Do I need to use Compressor to do that? What are the steps exactly? Again, forgive my newbie questions.

You need a FLV file as output.
Either Adobe media encoder that’s part of Adobe CS5, or Sorenson Squeeze which ships with every copy of Avid Media Composer can create these from a Quicktime.
There’s also a Quicktime plugin that let’s you export flash .flv directly from Quicktime.———————————–

These are direct instructions. Create a h.264 in Compressor and replace the mov file extension to flv.
