    Hello all,

I need to capture part of a feature in 10bit 444 via dual link from an HDCAMSR to FCP.

I thought I could do this to prores 4444, but the gamma levels are altered in FCP.

I can capture with the correct gamma levels using the aja 10bit RGB codec (I have a Kona 3), but the problem is that the feature runs at 25fps, and the codec won’t let me capture at this frame rate, even if I change all the frame rate settings to 25. I don’t really want to slow it down then speed it up. has anyone else had this problem? also is it possible to do this with PR 4444 with the correct gamma?

What kind of footage are you talking about, 1080i50 or 720p50?

Sorry for the delay, been away for a bit.

    in FCP terms it’s 1080i50.

I got round this by doing the small sections I needed at 24fps using the AJA codec. but that’s something I didn’t want to do, so it would be good to find a solution in case I have this problem again. plus I was hoping I could use prores4444.

You tried duplicating and editing a Capture Preset?

yes, and set everything to 25fps with the aja codec. on capture it acts as if it’s still set to 24, and quits capture due to a break in timecode.
