    Trash Preferences and repair Permissions.
If its doesn’t improves, run Diskwarrior or TechTools.

Thanks for the advice, I will try this tomorrow.

First it’s time to go home 😉

I will run an overnight memory test.

    I’ll keep you posted.

    Thanks.

Apple’s harware test didn’t show any problems.

Now checking permissions, doesn’t look good, it’s an unending list.

When finished checking I will trash my prefs and repair permissions.

    Keep you posted.

So I trashed my preferences and repaired permissions.. He found loads and loads of bad permissions and fixed them. I ran it again after and still he found a lot.

Took him a day, so today I’m going to test how everything works.

    We found the solution:

After hours of googleing and trying everything possible (removing ram, repairing permissions, updating every driver out there, reinstalling FCS) we found that some users have the same problem as we do.

Final cut crashes A LOT on loading thumbnails.

The solution for them seemed to be to remove their AJA cards…
We don’t have an AJA card but a BlackMagic HD DeckLink Extreme. Upon removal, our issue was resolved.

Hope this is of use to anyone else.

We sent a mail to BlackMagic to find out if they have a solution to this, so that we can use our reference monitors again….

I’ll let you know what they say.
