    Hi,

I just shot a short with an EOS D7 on 1080p25
I imported the footage in a project which I set up with the following parameters in “Easy Setup”.

    Format: HDV
Use: HDV 1080p25 firewire basic(not needed imported footage from flash drive)

    Rate: All rates

    Sequence preset: HDV – 1080p25
    Capt. preset: HDV
    Device Control Preset: blbalblalallbla
    Playback output video: none
    Playback output audio: default
    Edit to tape/PTV output video: HDV (1440 x 1080) 25p
Edit to tape/PTV output audio: HDV

Now, when i putt some shots next to each other in the timeline, I get the problem that the last frame of a piece of footage stays in screen while the playhead is already going over the next piece of footage, the still frame stays for 1 sec, then it quickly shows the footage it already had on high speed and then starts to play tge footage normal again untill the end of that piece, where the whole story starts again..

Does anyone know what might cause this problem?
It’s really annoying me and keeping me from work.

    Thanks for your help!

    Gr. Robin

If you are trying to work with the original h.264 files you will have all sorts of problems. They need to be transcoded to a more Edit friendly codec first like Prores.

    Here is a relevant thread.

Why are you using HDV, that is so wrong.

FIrst you need to convert all the clips to ProRes. Then you need to use a sequence settings that match your clips.

Canon has a pluging, you can use Compressor, Mpeg StreamClip and Red Giant Software has an app called Grinder ($50) to do the conversions.

It is good to learn the workflow of your camera system before jumping into an edit. There are probably a 100 post through out the cow on this.

Look at the sticky post at the top. Tutorial for working with tapeless media, including the 5D.

Concert to Prores, and use a prores sequence.

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies so far, I am trying to use the conversion with compressor like described in the 2nd post of this thread:
    https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/1102141#1102193
Tho.. I’ve never worked with compressor before and when I try to create a new setting and klik on the dropdown menu “File Format” there’s no Apple Prores to choose from?

Am I doing something wrong (again?) ?
